A quiet glimpse into a life that may have existed, or perhaps only exists in my imagination. Olórí Bìlíkísù is a queen, beautifully dressed and adorned with cowries, sitting in the familiarity of a backyard, simply waiting to be painted. I wanted the piece to feel like a moment caught in time, where nothing particularly dramatic is happening. She is just there, poised, beautiful and completely at ease.
